The Educational Aide Associate course is designed to offer participants the knowledge and resources needed to meet the requirements of the Paraeducator. This course contains 48-hours of observation and field experience in early childhood programs and ISD settings. Included in this course are the essential skills for working as a Paraeducator. Participants will gain the knowledge, skills and strategies through observation and assessment needed to develop and implement educational activities when working with students. Course content covered is relevant to the three subjects of study are Learning Environment, Curriculum content, and Instructional guidance in addition to Review and Practice Test questions. Each curricula area includes objectives, lessons, developmentally appropriate activities, and assessments that are related to all three subjects of study reading, writing, and math.

This course includes practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer, College, and student. The plan relates the workplace training and experiences to the student’s general and technical course of study. The guided external experiences may be for pay or no pay.
